Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT)

A vulnerability assessment evaluates if the system or the web application is susceptible to any known vulnerabilities, assigns severity levels to those vulnerabilities, and recommends remediation or mitigation to those vulnerabilities. In a Vulnerability Assessment, exploitation is considered out of scope as it is usually done in the Penetration Testing assessment.

Penetration Testing is when a Cybersecurity expert attempts to find and exploit vulnerabilities in a targeted scope whatever it may be. The purpose of this assessment is to identify any weaknesses in the targeted scope which attackers could take advantage of before they do.
